| Summary: | Hard-hitting Bristol Beaufort torpedo-bombers being built in Australia, will give the RAAF new power in the Pacific. Their wide operational range and effectiveness in attacking naval craft makes them ideal weapons against an invasion threat. Sections of the machines are made at widely separated factories and assembled in central plants. Ninety-five percent of the parts in the front fuselages were made in Australia. The outer metal skin is made of sheets imported from Kentucky (U.S.A.). These special sheets have an aluminium coating of a 3/1000ths part of an inch on each side. | ||
