Physical description: Cotton; Cotton lisle; Paper; Pearl; Wool; Home made black mammy doll, with long cotton print dress with white cotton collar and cuffs, cotton print cap (matching dress) with red grosgrain bow, white apron, miniature bead bracelets (left is gold and right is red), black cloth face with embroidered features, and black wool hair. Limbs are made from black lisle stocking. The three buttons sewn down the front are made from costume pearls. The doll is also wearing a pair of apricot coloured bloomers made from stretch cotton underwear material. A paper label sewn to doll's chest reads "No Dolls Queensland".
Summary: Part of an exhibition mounted in Brisbane by the Country Women's Association of Queensland demonstrating items that could be made from material readily available without coupons.
