Group portrait of members of the Australian Women's Army Service (AWAS) and Australian Army Medical Women's Service (AAMWS) serving with the Australian Chemical Warfare Field and Experimental Section. The unit, later known as the 1st Field Trials Company, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), carried out experiments on the effects of mustard gas and other chemical warfare agents.
