| Summary: | HMAS Sydney at sea off the Korean coast after putting out from Sase Bo Harbour in order to minimise possible damage from Typhoon Ruth. The Sydney lost overboard one of the eighteen aircraft stored on deck, with major damage occurring to several others. Two full days were required to repair all the damage received and repairable within the capacity of the ship with three days elapsing before she was returned to full operational readiness.
