| Summary: | The first volume of the Official History packed and ready for transport from Tuggeranong to the publishers, Angus & Robertson, in Sydney, NSW. Identified from left to right: G. B. Lowery, John Balfour, C. E. W. Bean, P. Wightman, Arthur W. Bazley. One of a series of photographs taken by C E W Bean or family members during his time spent at Tuggeranong homestead while writing the 'Official History of Australia at War 1914-1919'. The photographs comprise mostly of family, friends, staff and the local region. Photographs from the private collection of C E W Bean held at AWM 38 3DRL 6673. Alternate identifications have been suggested for two of the figures shown: the blurred figure at the left of the image is the draftsman Peter Wightman; the figure second from right in the AIF tunic is the clerk William Lawther. | ||
