The 5th, 6th and 7th Brigades advanced over this area from Westhoek Ridge, which faintly shows in the distance. The white line (across the centre of photograph) is a tape track, a canvas strip about 2 inches wide, indicating the direction the advancing infantry have taken, for the benefit of those following behind. | ||
