| Summary: | Informal outdoors group portrait of soldiers and officers from a battalion of the 6th Brigade who were newly arrived in Flanders from Egypt. Many of the men are holding or wearing steel helmets, which are covered with hessian to make the shiny surface less visible. Three men on the right towards the centre are holding up their Lewis guns. Identified fifth from the right in the front row is 556 Private Joseph Taylor, 26th Battalion. | ||
