Summary: The Dutch submarine HNMS K-XV returns safely to the port of Tandjong Priok (Batavia), Java in 1945, more that three years after escaping from the invading Japanese in 1942. Its commander, Lieutenant C W T van Boetzelaer, (possibly the officer in peaked cap) was the only Dutch officer to remain in charge of his submarine throughout the war.
