| Summary: | Kut-el-Amara, Mesopotamia. 1916-12-12. A lone soldier looks across the open plains of the Sinn Banks at the beginning of operations against the Turkish Army by members of the British Cavalry Division (6th and 7th Cavalry Brigades), Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force. The Cavalry was assisted by members of the 1st Wireless Signal Squadron who erected mobile wireless stations as they approached Kut to provide communication with headquarters. (Donor A. Cameron) | ||
