| Summary: | Major George Watkin Wynne (second from right), Commanding Officer of the Australian Coronation Contingent, boarding a train at East Croydon and Coulsdon station. He is accompanied by other senior officers and cadets of the contingent. Major Wynne had previously served as paymaster, Australian Naval Contingent; Captain Quartermaster and Adjutant, 3rd Australian Commonweath Horse during the Boer War and between 1905 and 1911 he was a Major commanding the NSW cadets. He was a journalist in civilian life and served in the First World War with the rank of captain. | ||
